The season brings four fully staged works to the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts, including: Carmen, Rusalka, Lucia Di Lammermoor, and The Marriage of Figaro. It includes one pleasant surprise for opera buffs with broad horizons: Dvorak's Rusalka. The Czech master's sensual, folk-drenched fairy tale has always had a big place in the repertoire, but doesn't get heard in American houses all that often.
